My 4th Grade Reading and Language Arts students are so full of excitement and creativity! They love to read, learn, and love to have fun and enjoy any lesson where they have the opportunity to be creative!
Going to school in a high poverty district in the middle of one of the most underfunded states in the nation should not keep these kids from having creative and exciting learning experiences.
These kids are full of potential and deserve to be inspired and encouraged to become great readers, writers, and learners!
My Project
Research shows great results when giving students brain breaks with physical activity throughout the school day. Kids are not able to reach their full potential sitting at a desk for 6 hours a day, and there are many opportunities to incorporate and inspire healthy lifestyles and exercise in the school day, not just in P.E. and at recess!
My students have been very excited about this potential project!
We have been doing some yoga stretches before our read aloud time, and I have seen a lot more engagement from the students. They now ask to do more, and they would love to have the proper equipment to incorporate yoga and other types of exercise in our schedule. Adding some books about sports heroes will not only encourage some of the most reluctant readers to read more, but will use sports to inspire more physical activities.
