My Students
I teach at a low income elementary school. However, the stakeholders in this community are extremely supportive and helpful. My 4th grade students come from a variety of learning backgrounds such as ESL, special education (IEP and 504), gifted, and everywhere in between. We have such an amazing time learning from as well as with one another.
Each student has unique strengths which makes the learning in the classroom that much more exciting. My students love math and science. My goal is to get them to love reading just as much or more.
My Project
Since my class has a plethora of needs and backgrounds, I believe that giving students books to read at home will increase not only their reading level academically, but will offer them a love for reading about diversity, perseverance, and empathy.
Many of my students do not have access to the internet at home and I highly believe that be giving them the opportunity to read more books at home will increase their motivation for learning and understanding of others.
My students are the best and they deserve the best! I hope we can get them to excel in reading!
