My students need fresh titles for reading groups including "Charles and Emma", "Never Let Me Go" and "Looking for Alaska."

My Students

The students I am targeting with these books are my advanced students. The school library just doesn't have enough high level titles to sustain these readers for a school year.

These students are reading at a level that often exceeds what is provided at a middle school level.

I try to keep a shelf of books that specifically targets these high level readers. They love a challenge and want to push themselves, which is why I want to provide resources that help them to do just that.

My Project

Students will be using these books to read as small groups so that they can have discussions about what they are reading. Students will also spend time writing about these books and reading supplemental materials. Variety is important even at the upper reading levels because there are so many types of readers.

Giving students access to high quality books, especially titles that they are interested in and want to read, is important for the middle school reader.

This project will give my students mite choice in what they can read.
