My students are creative energetic five-nine years old that are excited about learning and coming to school. Many of them speak two languages. They have many talents and abilities. All of them struggle to learn to read due to disabilities. They come to school each day and are able to be taught by amazing teachers in creative and challenging classrooms but they still struggle. They work hard and love to have books read to them. They want to learn.
My students will take home these books on their own level to challenge them to read. They will be asked to complete books that they will read aloud and share with their families. They will read the books and come to school and pass them off for points. As they read the books they will complete goals that they have set in reading to pass off and move up to the next levels. We will celebrate with each student as they move on and accomplish goals. Reading is a challenge for each one of these students. They are trying their best.
