My third-grade students are creative, inquisitive, and ready to learn!
Our high-poverty school is located in the heart of a major metropolitan area and is the largest in our county with over 1,400 students from diverse ethnic backgrounds around the globe.
There are 18 students in my class, 9 boys and 9 girls ranging from 8-9 years old. My class is comprised of students from various backgrounds and interest levels, but they have one thing in common - a love of learning!
My Project
Who doesn't love to snuggle up to a good book every now and then? My students absolutely love reading but sometimes require their own space to read, think, or work in small groups. Our classroom library is full of wonderful books, but we don't have a comfortable place to relax and enjoy them. Students often sit or lay on the bare floor when they're not at their desks.
Floor chairs will provide the perfect opportunity to cozy up with a good book or settle down to work on specific skills in a cleaner, more relaxed setting.
Movement throughout the room has been know to increase concentration and promote learning. Everybody will spread out with this new addition to our room. Three, two, one - Time to grab some books and get busy!
