My Students

My students are SO nice and friendly this school year! The 23 students are from all over the world. We have three students from Brazil, we have we have three students from Mexico, we have two students from Haiti, and one student from Bangladesh.

My students and I love working together to create songs and dances to math and reading concepts that are difficult to remember.

A good example of this is 6x7=42, I am cute and so are you! I have the students give themselves a pat on the back, or hug yourself, when they are successful at a new skill.

This school year is going to be a GREAT one for the kids in my 4th grade class!

My Project

Kids today are not use to "dropping everything to read." The "soft seats" will be used during our sustained reading block. The students can get "comfy and cozy" as they enjoy reading a "just right book" of their choice around the room.

Allowing the students to be comfortable as they read, will hopefully increase their LOVE OF READING!

In fourth grade, we are trying to build reading stamina. The students will be able to read longer, if they are feeling at ease. These soft seats will be used for just that. Our goal is to build a LOVE of reading!
