My students need new books, literacy materials, a Kindle, and money for math lessons to promote interest.
What do we teach our children? . . . We should say to each of them: Do you know what you are? You are a marvel. You are unique . . . You may become a Shakespeare, a Michelangelo, a Beethoven. You have the capacity for anything. - Pablo Casals
I have a group of very motivated 2nd graders who would love a larger classroom library.
They are so excited about any book we share and really have a passion for reading. These supplies can support current reading programs in my room such as Daily Five, Readers Theater, Reader's Workshop and Literacy Stations.
I would really love to enlarge my classroom library to help my students reach their full capabilities. The more students can be in front of a large variety of literature, the better their skills will become. The kindle requested can help the children to increase vocabulary, comprehension and fluency. My students need more classroom titles and comprehension activities. Comprehension is such an important skill, these items can receach students with various learning styles. The supplies requested could support current reading programs in my room such as Daily Five, Readers Theater, Reader's Workshop and Literacy Stations.
Also, money activities can prepare students for real word experiences. The items requested can keep this topic ongoing in our classroom routines.
Some students may never read on the level they are supposed to at the time they are supposed to, but I am committed to helping my students make over a year's worth of growth and hope to have these supplies to help me do it.
