My students need 2 exercise bikes so they can move! Stationary bicycles will allow them to move while they are reading or working on school work.

My Students
I am the librarian at a Junior High school that serves around 980 students on a daily basis. Many of our students want to succeed and use the library to assist them with school work, relaxing, and reading. Many of my students already enjoy the computers but would love the opportunity to Read and Ride!
My goal is to make the library a place where students can collaborate and learn, but also have a place of fun and relaxation.
A school library that they WANT to visit and feel safe and successful!
My Project
Active learning gives students an opportunity to release extra energy, anxiety, and frustration in a positive and appropriate way. Junior High students like to move! Adding exercise bicycles with a desk will allow for students to ride and work or ride and read. Students are often asked to sit for hours at a time and moving will help them release stress and enhance concentration.
Exercise helps our brain more prepared to learn!
We hope that by bringing exercise bikes into the library, we will see a better attitude about the library and more students visiting the library. This can often lead to higher literacy rates.
