My Students

My students attend a Title I school in Pennsylvania and all receive free or reduced-price lunch and breakfast. They attend a typical inner-city school. Most face serious obstacles before they even walk through​ the doors in the morning. Our goal is to make our school a safe and loving environment.

Our students come from diverse backgrounds and many come from different countries.

This makes our school pretty special in so many ways. The students all work so hard and are very deserving of this project.

My Project

With Covid on the uprise again things are so unstable for our students. They are unsure of what's happening from day to day. If I can have a stocked library my students would be able to take whatever books they want home to read. All my kids want to do recently is read. The truth is the more they read the better their vocabulary and comprehension get. That then transfers into all their classes, and we see their grades go up. I am watching this happen daily, and I’d love to provide them with a few more books to help out. It’s important that they stop seeing reading as work but something that can bring them enjoyment. Now that they are home, they do not have access to books, and I want to help change that by bringing them a book.
