Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Take chances, make mistakes, get messy!" This is our classroom motto. I teach an incredible group of third graders who amaze me each and every day.
My school is a Title I school with a free and reduced-price lunch rate of 84% and a large population of English Language Learners.
Many of my students see school as a safe place to play, learn, and grow. We are a close-knit community of learners who love and support one another within and outside of school.
My Project
I am hoping to add to my read aloud library! These are books that might be harder for my third grade scholars to read on their own or books they might not chose for themselves. Some books I asked for multiple copies to be used in a smaller group where lower readers can follow along.
Research has shown that teachers who read aloud motivate students to read.
Read alouds make literature more interesting to struggling students and helps motivate those students to try new books on. I have seen the right read aloud inspire a 1st grade level reader push themselves so that they can get to those exciting third grade and beyond chapter books! Thank you for encouraging life long readers!
