Our school is a high-performing K-5 elementary school in a suburb of Washington, D.C. We have a high military family and diverse population with some students receiving free and reduced lunch.
My classroom family consists of twenty-seven fun-loving, eager learners, who love to explore and create.
I strive to have an environment full of enthusiasm and energy to get my students excited and ready to learn each day. I encourage all my students to dream big and never give up on their ideas. Anything and everything is possible!
My Project
Our little learners learn are exposed to many things through read-alouds. With these requested books, I will enhance my classroom read-aloud time for all students to enjoy. I have chosen a variety of books that will enhance our kindergarten curriculum for language arts as well as math. Some titles include After the Fall, Apples for Everyone, Tap the Magic Tree, The Three Pigs, Transportation in My Neighborhood, Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs, Ron's Big Mission, Ten Black Dots, Jack the Builder, and How Tall?: Wacky Ways to Compare Height.
Read-alouds are a favorite time in our classroom, and with the variety of books from this project, we will be able to create meaningful and deep conversations regarding topics related to the world around us.
These books will be cared for within our classroom library which will also allow for my students to have more choice in their book selections during independent reading time. I hope this project allows for my students to increase their love of learning and reading within my classroom.
