My Students
I have a classroom full of littles who make me a better teacher each day! We learn together, make mistakes, laugh, and create life long memories. Each student has a personality I could not imagine being without. Their silliness and laughter is contagious and makes for a great day to be in room #6. We have a wonderful school and community that works together in helping each other help our children. Our school is a title 1 school. We strive to create success in all students.
My Project
It's amazing the impact one book can have on our students! Our classroom "Read Aloud Proud" project will engage students in wonderful texts, creating a love for reading. The materials we need will be used in correlation with the "Rooted in Reading" program. Rooted in Reading is an engaging balanced literacy program that I would like to implement into my daily reading instruction along with the basal program. The books will be used as a read aloud, where I model thinking out loud, fluency, and expression; engaging students in understanding a text, vocabulary, grammar, and fun activities. Engaged readers are learning readers!
