Help me give my students their own copy of the classic book, Matilda by Roald Dahl so that they can follow along with me as I read it out loud virtually.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
23 little minds log on every day into our virtual classroom ready take on the world, or tackle third grade at least, as 1 not-so-little body (ME!) prepares to give them the world. Where do I begin? Through a love of and for learning.
My third-grade students are unique in that they are simultaneously learning in two languages: English and Spanish.
These students and their families have committed themselves to our Dual Language program with the end goal of becoming bilingual and biliterate life-long learners. To aid in this quest, we require the support of multiple resources and unfortunately, these resources are hard to come by in our community (a community of which I am proud to say I grew up in). My students log into our virtual classroom daily with the want and the will to learn and anything I can do to nurture and cultivate this inquisitive trait, I will!
My Project
We usually read this chapter book when we are in the school building.
My students have loved reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory out loud and online (a previous donation from an amazing donor) and often ask for "just one more chapter, please".
Once we are finished with CCF, I would love to start reading Matilda with them.
If they had their own copy, they could turn to the page we're on and follow word by word, learning new vocabulary and visualizing along the way (a must for our English Language Learners and appealing to our learners of different modalities). We could even mark up the pages with predictions, think-alouds, unfamiliar words. The possibilities are endless and it's never too early to engage with texts!
