My Students

Our school is nestled in the mountains of southern Colorado at an elevation of 9,000 feet. The last silver boomtown of the 19th century, our economy now is primarily reliant on tourism. Once the tourist season ends, our population shrinks dramatically, and our little town settles into a small, close-knit, family atmosphere.

The children in our town are deeply loved by our community and are regarded as the "life" of our little town.

Townsfolk turn out to support our students in everything they do from sports to musical/drama programs to literacy and science events!

My Project

Our classroom library is growing and becoming a place where students love to spend time reading and looking at beautiful, engaging artwork.

These cd players and audio read-along books will increase the confidence and fluency of my beginning readers and spark further interest in them to pick up a book and read on their own.

Knowing that we may transistion to remote learning at times during this school year, these are resources that can be sent home as a way for students to continue their practice and enjoyment of reading. Just another way to encourage and build a love for stories of all kinds and reading!
