My Students

Our school has a tight budget and we are in need of books with CDs for our listening center. We only have one set that we have listened to repeatedly since September!

The classroom consists of readers on a large spectrum of reading levels due to the fact that it is an inclusion classroom.

It is hard to meet the needs of every student without a large variety of materials. The students LOVE being read to and have made great strides in reading since the beginning of the year!

My Project

With these materials, my students will learn to love reading while listening to what fluent and expressive reading sounds like. The listening center is an excellent classroom resource that the students enjoy. I've requested the materials from our Literacy Liaison, who told me that the school cannot afford these materials at this time.

My students have all worked so hard to help others this year by collecting money and goods for the Haitian Earthquake Victims and collecting Toys for Tots that I feel they deserve something special.

What better reward than literacy?! Thank You!!
