My Students

I teach first grade in a school with a diverse background of students. Many of my students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch and their families don't have the economic advantage to be able to donate needed items. My students love school and are excited about learning. They thrive with hands-on learning experiences that allow them to be fully engaged and take ownership of their learning. They enjoy cooperating and working together. They are smart, full of life, and amaze me every day.

My Project

Scholastic News offers students the opportunity to learn about current events. Students will have the opportunity to read, answer questions, and view video clips that go along with the topics at hand.

Scholastic News incorporates science and social studies along with language arts standards to provide exciting and engaging lessons.

Not only will students be able to read the text in their hands, they can also read it online. Digital access allows for students to learn more in-depth about the content, this enhancing learning.

If our school were to go back to virtual learning, the Scholastic News digital version provides them with the ability to do so.
