My students need the reading intervention supplies to help push my students toward their end of the year goals. In order to fill in the last gaps that are there and prepare them for next year.
My students bring their joy to me each day. I walk into a classroom that is full of eager energy. From the big to the small, we are celebrating. We celebrate a student moving one reading level after six years of no movement. We celebrate the entire class understanding a standard. We celebrate each other just because it's needed. Some days we might be celebrating that they showed up to school even though their circumstances and issues are harder than any adult might face.
My kids face devastating poverty, fear of homelessness and deportation.
These issues would ordinarily hinder most kids, but my kids push on. The daily struggles that they face could stop them from trying and prevent them from learning, but it doesn't. They come to me each day with their heart in their hands and their minds open. Despite their situations, they learn. They do it each day, over and over again. They are the reason I wake up in the morning; they are the reason I persevere even though life gets me down. Because of them, I can be my best and reach my full potential. They are the inspiring ones, not me.
The supplies that have been requested are going to be used for reading intervention and phonics education. The early reader books will help to provide sight word work for students who have learning gaps in sight word recognition. All of these supplies will be used for my English Language Learners to make connections with new work and previous learners.
Many of my students face, several obstacles each day, just getting to school can be a challenge.
I want to be able to provide all possible resources to my learners. I have various interventions that need these individual supplies. My students will benefit from the use of all these supplies and help them to feel successful.
