Mrs. Thompson from Texarkana TX is requesting books through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need books! Reading is a fundamental part of elementary education, and I am hoping to cultivate a passion for reading in my classroom!

My leaders are the most inquisitive, resilient, and determined people I know! These kids have stolen my heart and I want to give them the best reading experience possible. Every group of kids is different from year to year whether it's their interests, personalities, or their life goals, and this year's leaders are no exception.
From day one I have called them my babies, and even when they are 45 years old telling me how they have succeeded in life, I will still call them one of my babies.
These kids mean more to me that they will ever know.
Getting books into the hands of children who need them the most is the ultimate goal. Having many different titles in my classroom means my leaders will have the tools they need for research projects, independent reading time, and even books to take home if they don't have any. Kids in my classroom sometimes come from homes that are not rich in literature, and I want to change this! Every book counts and is a chance for a child to explore outside of my classroom walls, into their imagination.
This is a crucial time in my student's lives where they become a child that loves to read, or hates it and gets pushed through the system by just getting by.
Won't you help me change this?
For many of my students, school is the only place they receive a meal, but now it can also be the place where they get lost in a good book all because someone was able to help their teacher afford to do so. Help me feed my student's literary appetites!
I am asking for several different types of books to stock my class library because my kids deserve just that. I would love for you to help me enrich my leader's lives with literature!
