Amazing, wonderful, creative, athletic, innovative, and curious are just a few words that can be used to describe the energetic bunch of 4, 5 and 6 year olds who enter my classroom every morning. They come from varying home lives but once they walk into the classroom they are one big, happy family.
My phenomenal students need your help to level the playing field and give them a fair opportunity to succeed.
The school can provide their meals and help parents with after school care but we need additional support to give these kids access to the technology and educational materials that their peers are already using.
These kids want to learn. They want to be successful. They want to make us all proud. Please help them meet their dreams and rise above even our greatest expectations.
My Project
We are currently teaching Science and Social Studies without a true curriculum and without on grade level resources for our students. Learning about the world around them and learning how things work are two of a Kindergartners favorite things to do!
Scholastic Let's Find Out Magazines will give my students access to articles and information that is pertinent to their lives and to the time of year.
Each month, the magazine will feature four seasonal, holiday, or history related articles. The students will also have access to all of the online components including games and videos. We will use these magazines throughout the week and then students will be able to take them home and share all their new information with their families!
