My students are special education students in a Title I school from a wide variety of backgrounds and economic levels. Their disabilities range from mild to severe. This is the only special education room that services grades 3, 4, and 5 in our district.
My students work very hard to achieve in the classroom despite the odds stacked against them.
They deserve the best education I can give them. I have students who have a variety of disabilities from non-verbal autism and cognitive delays to specific learning disabilities. I am so proud of my students and want them to be able to achieve in my classroom!
My Project
The sight word games and life skills materials will make such a difference in my students lives. They will be able to learn their sight words in an engage way. The signage and feelings books will help my students learn about their feelings and staying safe. Many of my students are not reading yet and the hands on sight word activities will help them learn in the most effective way and keep them engaged. My students are also in need of activities to help them learn the skills of daily living as we do not currently have a life skills curriculum for these students.
These life skills materials will allow my students to learn the skills necessary for everyday life.
They will help to make them successful individuals in the classroom. I am excited to help my students reach new heights with these activities!
