This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Computer technology is a positive supplement to bridge the gap between education and the technological world in which we live. But how much will a lack of technology in our schools put students at a disadvantage?
My students are amazing people willing to work hard and are determined to succeed.
They come from the proud Latino and African American families. Many of them don't have the financial resources to buy a computer so they are falling each day to a greater disadvantage in the technological world of today. My class of twenty-eight students get to use three working computers in a classroom.
My Project
Smart-tablet assisted technology in my class can offer students greater access to information, an eager motivation to learn, and enhanced quality of class work. I will be using this Kindle Fire tablet to enhance my students' math skills. I will use different math apps to generate a continuous flow of math problems, but it can also produce problems with different levels of difficulty. Students can be given quizzes online or through math apps that can provide instant feedback and help if the student gets a question wrong, and guide the student step-by-step to the right answer.
Education serves as a window through which imagination and curiosity can take flight into the unknown and enhance my students' creativity.
