My students need a whiteboard step so they can reach more than the bottom few inches of the board.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Camden, NJ has been ranked as America's most dangerous city. The majority of the students in my class receive free or reduced-price lunch. Despite the challenges my students face living in this environment, they come to school eager to learn and grow. For many students, school is their safe place, and I want to create the best environment possible for them to feel safe, secure, and cared for. They are the future of this city and have the potential to improve their community.
My Project
We are very lucky to have a SmartBoard (interactive white board) in our classroom. However it was originally installed for higher grades with much taller students. The pre-k students in my class are only able to reach the bottom foot or less of the board.
This step will allow the students to reach a significant portion of the board and do so safely.
There are many interactive educational games we could be using on this technology but with the students unable to reach high enough they are unusable. This step will make a huge difference in the students ability to independently access educational technology.
