This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We live in a small, agricultural community where 89% of the students at our school come from low-income families. I have the pleasure and privilege of working with the 4th-5th grade students at my school to enrich their education using technology. Every week, I meet with each class for a total of two and a half hours. They learn how to use various Google Apps for Education tools, online research skills, coding, typing, and more.

When my students enter my classroom, they are excited and motivated to learn the computer skills needed to build their foundation for a successful future.

My Project

I am requesting adjustable, comfortable, computer chairs to provide a more effective and productive work environment for my technology students.

These computer chairs will help the over 200 students that spend two and half hours a week working in my classroom.

My students sit on hard, plastic chairs that don't reach to the height of their desks. The new chairs will allow them to adjust the height needed for correct posture position and help to prevent neck or back pain. It will remove the need for smaller students to sit on their feet to comfortably reach their keyboards and prevent my taller students from slouching to clearly see their screens.
