Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A typical day in our classroom is exciting and exhausting because we strive to reach new heights everyday! Our new curriculum requires technology to enhance lessons and engage students. My students are excited about learning and show great enthusiasm when technology is integrated in lessons.
My class is comprised of 5th graders.
My school is located in a socioeconomically challenged community. The vast majority of students participate in the free lunch program. Despite the social and economic challenges the students face, they are excited about coming to school and learning each day.
My Project
Technology is a necessary component in education today! A MacBook Air will help enhance our Language Arts, Math, Science, and Visual and Performing Arts lessons. Students will be able to watch videos that connect to the learning in their textbooks, participate in online science labs, and become learning partners with students in other parts of the country. Not only will students learn more about their content area, they will gain experience with technology which will prepare them for the 21st century!
The donations to this project will give my students an opportunity to participate in and experience the same learning that is taking place in classrooms throughout the country.
This opportunity will open virtual doors and spark student interest that will impact the learning that is taking place in their classroom.
