Reaching Kids Through Play and Exploration!
Help me give my students tools such as clay and worry dolls they can work with to tackle and overcome challenges/trauma through play!
What can I say I love my job! I work with children from kindergarten to 5th grade. My job is to help them be successful in their classroom by assisting them to explore their emotions and how to tackle challenges when they come up. Some of my students come from difficult backgrounds, and it's my job to help them to feel safe by showing them coping mechanisms and mindfulness activities. My students come from diverse settings and experiences because of this they have unique needs and require resources that would meet their needs differently.
These items help kids process past trauma through play. Some kiddos have a hard time expressing themselves with words, so these tools will help them name their emotions by re-acting, forming and physically processing them.
The work I do with kids with various backgrounds is essential for healing.
The clay is for feelings and sensory work. The worry dolls are to help them let go of their worries. When the kids come into my room, they are free to explore and find any items to use. These tools will help make the place a little more magical for the students.
