Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at a Title I school where many of the students are economically disadvantaged. They all experienced much in their young lives, yet are so hardworking and eager to learn.
I will be teaching math, science, and social studies to two classes in third grade this year.
I want my students to have the tools that they need to be successful.
I want to excite my students about learning and improve their math skills. I like to provide my students with experiences and lessons to encourage their success. It is important that my students are engaged in fun, exciting, and challenging activities.
My Project
I was fortunate to have my registration to the Texas CAMT annual summer math conference funded by awesome DC donors this year. I attended many spectacular sessions and made sure I registered for Reagan Tunstall's session on guided math. I have heard great things about her and I was not disappointed.
The materials in this project were written by Reagan Tunstall and I feel they can help my students improve their math skills as we "reach for the stars".
The guided math bundle of over 900 pages includes lessons and activities for each standard that a third grader needs to know. There are also suggestions to use with those students that require more help and also for those that are ready for enrichment. The math centers bundle will provide 10 additional centers for each standard that students have to master. I'm excited to guide my students through the math galaxy as we reach for the stars this year!
