Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school district has continued to drastically change over the years. VELC has more than one-third of the students in our school coming from low-income households. My students are special because they come from many different backgrounds. About 50% of my students come from homes in which English is not the primary language spoken. Many of my students have little to no English vocabulary.

My students always put forth their best effort, despite the challenges they may experience.

The materials in my projects will aid my students in achieving academic success. In this project, I have included a laminator, laminating sheets, and several types of manipulatives. Recently, my laminator broke due to 5 years of use. We need another laminator, as I laminate all the center activities. This allows me to use the materials over and over again, impacting more than just my kiddos this year, but also for years to come. The manipulatives included in this project are STEM-related. These manipulatives will be used for literacy centers, math instruction, and also free play. Students can use their imaginations to build whatever comes to mind!

We are grateful for any contributions and I will make sure to incorporate learning experiences that will be embedded in their little brains for the rest of their lives!
