Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This will be my second year teaching at our school in Charlotte, North Carolina. Our school has a very high poverty rate of over 99%. Which makes getting extra school supplies and materials more difficult. Last year I got a lot of donations which I believed greatly benefited the education of my students. We had a great year and learned so much in a fun and engaging classroom. However, we fell short on a lot of items and my students needed more. Everything from extra school clothes to extra pencils ran out. Any donation can help these deserving students get a better education!

My Project

These items will help my students by creating a more organized and engaging environment. The storage bins and organizers will help with student work samples and supply organization. This will help the classroom have smoother transitions allowing more time to learn. The dry erase makers, puzzles, and games will help keep students engaged. It will create alternatives to pencil and paper work in a fun way. The bean bag chair, crates, and cushions will give students alternative seating options. This will help make the classroom a positive learning environment by giving the students the power of choice when choosing where to finish work. This will also allow small groups to be more organized and inviting.
