I teach the best students on the planet! Their curiosity and love for learning makes coming to work a joy. I teach in a rural area where a majority of my students come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. Despite the challenges they face in their personal lives, they come to school each day ready and eager to learn.
Teaching allows you to touch the future!
Watching students as they grow their minds to lead our world is an inspiration. Their hunger for learning drives my motivation to teach!
My Project
STEAM, coding, and robotics allow my students to envision the future. Through coding and other STEAM-related activities, my students are learning problem-solving that will enable them to meet the demands of an ever-changing world. Through the teaching of coding in class, they have learned how to write code to solve certain problems. Sphero robots will allow them to take their knowledge of computer coding and put apply hands-on situation. My students are passionate learners who take great pride and care of any privilege afforded to them. As they progress with their knowledge of coding and how it pertains to the robot itself, they then can create their own commands through code to get their robot to follow. As they work together through team-building exercises, they will gain skills that will enable them to be successful in a competitive job market.
I have seen how introducing my students to experiences in learning has increased their confidence and motivation and has improved their grades across all content areas.
My hope is that by providing them with this opportunity that their minds and dreams will continue to grow. Help them reach for robotics and the future that is theirs to take.
