Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Creating a literacy rich environment for my students is my goal. I want to motivate my students by providing the essential tools necessary for them to be comfortable to learn. I teach 20 first grade students in Compton, California. My school serves nearly 1,000 students from kindergarten through fifth grade. Most of my students are disadvantaged. My classroom is in need of a literacy center. During writing time, I would like to spend more time on getting my students started in a more efficient way. Providing a paper display to a table will ensure that my students get started right away. It will be a well-organized way to get classroom supplies. Instructional time is essential in creating literacy in my students. Also, our classroom does not have any place to put their unfinished work. By providing cubbies, my students will have easy access to their work. This will save an immense amount of instructional time, as I do not have to go dig them up in a temporary display file. These items will be of tremendous help to my classroom. My students will be able to work more productively. These items will help my students for years to come. Thank you for your consideration!
