Hello! My students are important to me because they come to school every day with a love of learning, but some of them have many struggles at home. I love that my students are willing to try anything I ask them to do. They have an "I can" attitude and not an "I can't" attitude. With this in mind, I would love to accumulate more growth mindset books and activities to help them continue their love of learning and a positive attitude, even though they face many obstacles in their home lives.
My students are special because each one of them has different strengths and weaknesses, but despite this, they come together in the classroom to make learning fun and enjoyable.
The students in my class are positive and pick each other up when one of them is facing a challenge. I love being their teacher and watching them grow socially, emotionally, and academically each day!
These materials will make a difference in my students learning because it will give them more choices when it comes to selecting books they want to read. It will boost their confidence and build their reading stamina at the same time. Students who are presented with books that they want to read are more likely to read more.
Teaching students to read in first grade is of utmost importance so that they build their foundational skills and continue to enjoy reading as they progress through elementary school.
It is both a privilege and an honor to teach students to read in first grade. These books will help to support my teaching and the students learning this year.
