My Students

As I am preparing to begin my first year of teaching, I haven't had the opportunity to meet very many of my students yet. However, I know that these students are hard working, talented, and wonderful individuals. I am so excited to meet each student and begin working on developing their musical skill set!

The community within a band program is like no other.

Students all come together to create beautiful music on a daily basis. Music is especially important throughout a student's middle school career. This is why it is so vital that my students have the resources that they need! Middle school is often a difficult age and students need a creative outlet and a place to be themselves. I hope that my band room can be that space for my students!

My Project

In order to begin our school year on "excellent" footing, my students need quality resources to help aide their musical development! The "Standard of Excellence" Band Method Book series scaffolds student learning in a logical manner while providing them with important connections to music theory, history, and various cultures around the globe. Unfortunately, not all of my students will be able to purchase their own method book - making a classroom set essential for my student's success.

By providing a classroom set of method books, this will ensure that every student has the opportunity to learn and grow as a young musician, no matter their financial background!

I want to provide an opportunity for ALL students to experience music, and by funding this project you will be helping them to do just that!

These books will be used daily in order to develop musical skills that can be transferred directly to concert music. It is so important that students have quality resources to utilize in order to learn and grow!
