Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are taking astronomy or aquatics class. Most of my students are seniors preparing for college next year. The minority enrollment at this school is 98% of which 85% are economically disadvantaged.

Many of my students work parttime jobs.

Some of them even work fulltime jobs. They may have children of their own but are still striving to be successful academically.

They are intelligent and focused on bright futures. They have a strong desire to succeed. I love my students.

My Project

The students will take photos using the Sony and Canon Powershot digital cameras. Accessories will include a MOSISo sling bag that will be used to carry the cameras. The 64M SanDisk and OAproda battery charger will be used to keep the camera ready as needed. They will photograph real-life examples of aquatics and astronomy-related topics.

These real-life examples of photos related to classwork will provide a more authentic experience in their learning.

The photos and their writing will be portrayed through the school hallways and our classroom. It will be hung with the clear gorilla tape. Thus, other students not taking aquatics or astronomy can also experience what we are learning.

The graphic art tape will be used to portray constellation diagrams of the walls and classrooms. It will connect the different stars in each constellation.

The FDP 18" mobile school chair, wireless keyboard and mouse will be used by the teacher to make the classroom more versatile.

The Digital Touch Pocket and Digital Gram Toprime mini scales will be used to measure mass during labs by aquatics classes. The safety goggles will also be used for lab activities. While the EXPO Brightsticks will allow students to write on tabletops​ when solving problems. The Clorox Disinfecting wipes will be used to keep the tables germ free.
