Our classroom is full of 3rd and 4th grade highly gifted students. They are constantly active in learning and challenging themselves. To enrich the curriculum we have reading clubs, STEM projects, and student-driven research. If I could describe our class with one phrase, I would call it "ever changing."
With their active brains constantly working, they love to be able to vary their learning subjects, groups, and environments.
They flow from large group to small group to individual work several times throughout the day.
My Project
Flexible seating give students the opportunity to make choices that will work best for them. When given the opportunity to responsibly choose an alternate seating environment, students are often able to better concentrate on the task at hand. Some of the options are wobble chairs while they are at their desks, bean bags, and flex space floor seats.
These flexible seating products will give the students the opportunity to vary their learning environment according to their needs and take responsibility for making a wise choice to work in their best learning environment.
I have seen how additional choices have helped students' learning, and I hope the additional options will continue to help us grow.
