My Students

Hello! I am a 6th-grade teacher. I currently teach a Special Education ELA class.

We are a school that is embracing technology through blended learning.

By incorporating technology such as Chromebooks, we are blending the past with the present and bringing lessons to life. My particular students have very high needs and struggle greatly with reading and writing. The range of my students' reading skills goes from kindergarten through 4th grade.

I would be using the tablets as a means to provide an updated form of individualized instruction to my students, as well as to fill the gaps in their learning. By doing so, I hope to see my students progress and grow in their education.

My Project

Having these tablets accessible in the classroom will greatly help students who need big gaps to fill.

It is important that each child, no matter what their background is, get the best education that they deserve.

Most of my students qualify for free breakfast and lunch, so education is sometimes the last thing on their minds. My hope is that if I bring reading to life, they will not only love it but begin to build skills that will make them love learning. Creating life-long learners is my ultimate goal as their teacher and I would really like to reach hard to do it.
