My students are eager, active, and ready to learn new things! They challenge themselves on a daily basis in Physical Education to make themselves, their peers, and their families lead healthier lifestyles. My students live in a rural, tight-knit Wisconsin community, that is also very diverse.
When I present them with a new learning opportunity, they rise to the occasion and squeeze every ounce of knowledge out of it.
My students deserve the same learning opportunities that students have across the country, regardless of geographic area or affluence.
My Project
Ball-Drumming is a sport where you drum on an exercise ball to a song, practicing your rhythms and dance skills. There are routines from popular songs that the kids love, that we will all learn together. With this equipment, each student will have their own ball-drum and their own set of sticks. In lessons, they will follow along me, the teacher, or a video demonstration. They will dance along to the songs while drumming to the beat on the exercise ball.
This is a non-competitive PE activity that allows everyone to get fit and have fun together!
It promotes physical literacy, social-emotional learning, and personal fitness for all students of all ages. This will teach kids that cardiovascular activities can be fun!
