My Students

As a second grade teacher at a Title 1 school, many of my students are faced with challenges inside and out of the classroom. Despite the challenges they may face, they are a curious group of students who are always eager to learn!

My students are tech-savvy second graders who are looking for new ways to learn and explore.

They become fully immersed in a topic- especially when technology is involved. Seeing this engagement has motivated me to incorporate technology any way that I can into our curriculum.

My Project

By supplying two kid's edition Kindle Fires, you are providing my students with an opportunity to incorporate technology into the classroom in new and exciting ways. I have also included splitters so that students may sit with a buddy and listen and respond to stories together.

The main purpose of the Kindles will be for a fiction and non-fiction listening center where students can ignite their love of reading.

Adding this new technology will also be beneficial for other subjects, such as math and science, as students can utilize some of the many apps that are compatible with the devices.
