This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Title I campus which means it is a school of high poverty. Many of our parents work multiple jobs to make ends meet. It is a neighborhood school and most students walk to school. 80% of my students are English Language Learners who struggle with reading and math.

Classrooms which are student-centered are successful.

My goal is to increase engagement in a student-centered classroom to help set up my students for success. I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, projects and options to help meet students where they are and achieve their goals.

My Project

This year we are reimagining the classroom. Our goal is for our classroom to look like 2018. We are a classroom of creators, innovators and learners. This green screen set-up and tripod will help us use our iPad to create videos to show others what we know in a creative manner. This will also help us become better communicators and publish our work to an authentic audience through our blog and website. The green screen will also increase student engagement in our student-centered classroom as we incorporate a variety of learning strategies, projects and options to meet student learning goals.
