My Students

My students come from all over the world! We are fortunate to be in shadow's distance to a major university which provides us the opportunity for our students to learn alongside a very international and diverse group of friends. It also means that we have an ever-changing level of abilities and expectations within our classroom walls.

A typical day in my classroom involves a lot of movement and discussion.

We are an active group and are constantly exploring the curriculum through experimentation and personal interaction with the world!

My Project

This Lakeshore Reading Comprehension set will help my students that need additional support in the areas of Main Idea, Sequencing, Cause and Effect, Making Inferences, and Reading for details. These are vital strategies as reading changes in the 2nd grade into a focus more on comprehension skills. One of my favorite parts about these folders in particular is that Lakeshore Learning designed and wrote the passages to be of interest to the students so they can be more focused and involved in their review. High interest passages paired with valuable review is not easy to find and I feel fortunate for this opportunity through both Donors Choose and Lakeshore Learning.
