My Students

My football players come from very diverse socioeconomic backgrounds here in the upstate of South Carolina, drawing from the communities of Six Mile, Central, and Clemson.

Our diversity is what makes our group so special.

We may have best friends where one comes from a single-family home with a history of drugs in the home and another whose family is well off financially and has two college-educated parents.

I call this group my family and tell them to treat each other as brothers. I truly feel that these boys can and will lean on each other as brothers in the future. I try to provide these players with a family atmosphere that they may not get elsewhere.

My Project

We chose a Schutt Vengeance A3 helmet because it was the only brand that fit this players head. We tried on over 15 helmets with this player, but none of them fit. A football player cannot play without having a helmet, so we found that the large version of this helmet was the closest to fitting.

The XL (extra large) Schutt Vengeance A3 helmet should be exactly what we are looking for and fit our needs.

Providing this helmet offers an opportunity to play where one wouldn't have existed otherwise. This is a great kid, and we are happy to give him the opportunity to play.

We also added a composite leather football to use when practicing or playing in adverse weather conditions.
