Raz Kids To Become Better Readers
My students need Talking Raz Kids to help with Reading Skills at their own ability level.
The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.-
Dr. Seuss, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!
I want to instill a love of reading in my students while incorporating technology.
We are a first grade classroom in the heart of our city.
Many of our students come from low income families and we are a Title I school. There is sometimes little support at home due to a large population of English Language Learners that we have. My students are great kids who are motivated to learn. I am always looking for new technology to encourage them.
Raz-Kids is a subscription-based service that correlates with the small group reading done in the classroom. Students have the opportunity to use this program at home for extra reading practice. They can listen to, read and record themselves reading books at their ability level.
Having Raz-Kids and microphones will create a bridge between what happens in the classroom with home.
Parents have the ability to log in and see what their child has been reading as well as how accurately they have answered reading comprehension questions. The children will be able to become better readers by using this program for extra practice.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
