My students need 7 sets of leveled books, books, and more BOOKS! Our classroom had bare walls in September and students have read all the donated books I have. Help us grow our library!
Do you remember what it was like to find a book you couldn't put down? One that you wanted to share with everyone you knew? My students don't have the opportunity to find these books yet, as our classroom library is lacking...everything! Reading is so important for young learners. Help my students!
Our school is a 60% Free and Reduced Lunch public school.
My students benefit from this program, because a full belly makes a happy child! My students are energetic and bring so much potential to the classroom. They are enthusiastic readers, but the resources are not available at our school to be able to nurture their reading education.
My Project
My students are also fantastic readers. They love to read and have already read through my classroom library, which was a donation from family and friends. They keep coming up to me and asking for more books, or more time to visit the school library. I want to be able to offer them more books in the classroom, as I plan to make the change to a guided reading program ASAP rather than use the scripted curriculum I was given. To do so, we need BOOKS!
This cause is important to me, but will mean the world to my students.
Reading is how children learn. It opens up their minds to so many opportunities. Please help me give these students the opportunity they deserve to become better readers, so they can become better writers, so they can make a better future!
