My Students

I teach in a local charter school with 98% free and reduced lunch. My students have spent the last year learning virtually. My students struggle with motivation and academics. I have a learning lab that services students that are 2-3 grade levels behind, along with a growing ELL population. My students are hard workers that are trying hard to succeed.

My Project

Students in my reading intervention class will take the assessment that will address their silent reading fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and motivation for reading. This program will create a personalized reading plan for each student. We will meet three times a week for teacher-directed instruction using the Reading Plus program.

The Reading Plus program will help my students build reading proficiency and become more confident, engaged readers.

It will also help the academic support team to make informed decisions about students who need additional help and resources to reach their academic goals.
