Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in my class are high energy and have an excitement for learning. All of my students have fun, unique personalities that shine through in their love for academics.
Our school is a second year, Title I school in an urban area.
Before joining our school, students attended schools in the area where they weren't given a chance to thrive in academics. My students have come to love learning and are excited about their own personal growth within their academics.
My Project
My students would love to expand our classroom library with more books that are significant to their grade level. These books would make the biggest difference for my class! It is so important that the students are being exposed to multiple types of text.
These independent books would provide my kids with more opportunities to practice their independent reading.
Each leveled book provides an opportunity for my students to grow their stamina, vocabulary, passing, as well as their critical thinking. Reading is crucial for the success of students. Reading povides the students with growing knowledge. Knowledge is power and my kids are hungry for it!
