My Project

My science fair students, who represent a diverse group of underrepresented students in STEM, need one of the best 3D printers available for science and engineering classes and competitions. Our STEM research classes have used 3D printers in the past to make objects for classroom projects and science fair competitions, including wind turbines, airfoils, and special molds for concrete. However, over the past 7 years, the equipment is becoming quickly outdated and unreliable.

The students need a 3D printer to design and modify their prototypes for science and engineering competitions using advanced materials for enhanced innovation and creativity in their designs.

Not only will they be able to create novel solutions, but they will also be able to rapidly modify and adjust their prototypes. In addition, the new 3D printer can create multi-colored objects and print with advanced materials. The PRUSA MK4 will be a vital tool used by so many students in our science and engineering research program.
