My first graders attend a great school in Northern California. The school that I work for is in a high-poverty area. Some of my students face the normal things that are often associated with poverty. These obstacles do not impact their love for school. My students love to learn new things and are very excited about learning how to read.
I am very happy that I work at a school where the staff really believes that all students can achieve academic success with the right support and mindset.
I am asking for random resources that will make our classroom fun and promote student engagement. I am asking for construction paper and card-stock for our special projects, like mothers day and the 100th Day of School.
I am asking for a Bluetooth speaker that will be used in various ways.
When my first graders get a little wiggly and need a movement break I can pull up a quick song. The speaker can also be used for inside PE; I can play the Bunny Hop or other classics such as the Hokey Poker. I am also asking for workbooks to supplement our reading curriculum.
I also asked for some actual treats that will be used as incentives and rewards for hard work!
