Help me give my students two computers to design, build, wire and program robots. In order to give them all hands-on experience with the programming languages used on the robot and train them properly prior to competition.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our robotic team is a group of students from several different South Carolina communities. They range in age from 14 to 17 years and work to build a working robot of roughly 200 pounds that can complete the competitive tasks set by the FIRST organization (www.first.org). With a focus on clear communication and safety, students work together with mentors to create the plans for the robot, design the robot using CAD, machine parts, wire the robot electrically, program the robot to complete the tasks, and ensure that it is well-constructed enough to withstand blows if necessary. They meet with mentors from various businesses and industries. There are sub-teams within our team and students learn the workplace skills and behaviors in an industrial environment. This STEM program provides experience with working in teams along with increasing their knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and math applications in competitive situations.
My Project
Our team designs, builds, wires and programs robots to ready them for competition on the local, state, and national levels. Our team this year is growing. While students were able to share computers for programming last year, this year we have six programmers on our team. In order to give them all hands-on experience with the programming languages used on the robot and train them properly prior to competition, we need to purchase another computer. We chose this computer because it has the capability to run the software that we need to run multiple programming languages and should last a number of years.
