Ramp Up Our Reading!

Help me give my students the Primary Phonics Storybooks. These books will support my beginning readers as well as support lessons I teach throughout the year for reading and spelling specific letters/sounds.

My Students

My students are young, energetic learners! The population is diverse in ethnicity and in experience. I enjoy learning with them each day! Their struggles help me to be a better teacher every day.

My students love learning and I love watching them learn and grow!

I am always looking for new ways and materials to help them and give them confidence as they progress through the year.

Our classroom culture is one that fosters the ideas that they can do hard things, new things may be hard but they won't stay that way and that good things take time. When I am able to give them materials to support these mindsets they are happy, confident and proud learners! That makes my teacher heart happy!

My Project

These materials are complete in sequence. They support the sounds that we start with as beginning readers and continue to align with the progression of early reading. Phonics are important for early reading and writing. When students learn phonics skills in an isolated lesson, they need materials like these to support application of what they are learning. These stories provide good context and a decent challenge for them to grow as readers. Many phonics readers from boxed curriculum don't give students a wide context or the challenges they need to grow.
