My Students

I teach at an inner-city school where I have a very diverse group of students. My classes have special education as well as English as a second language. They are not only educationally diverse but economically and socially diverse as well.

Each week, my students get to perform a cooking lab.

For many students, this is the highlight of their day.

My Project

Do you know that teenagers love to eat Ramen? Some of my high school students would literally eat it every day if they could.

My cooking students do a Ramen make over as one of their labs.

I would love to be able to give each student their own package of Ramen to do this lab.

Some of the previous makeovers have included adding healthy food items like eggs, broccoli, peas, carrots, corn, green beans in addition to other spices like Adobo besides what I call the silver packets of death.
