My Pre-K and Kindergarten students are just beginning their academic journey. We are in a brand new school. Everything is brightly colored and these little learners are excited to come in every day ready to learn. These students are smart and love learning through play, small groups, music and more!
I am the Librarian and it's my desire is to create a love for learning and reading at this early stage.
I love sharing books that make them think, giggle and learn lessons about being a better person.
I like to expose them to different genres and authors. Reading is one of the best activities to stimulate language and cognitive skills. It also builds motivation, curiosity, and memory. These children have a lot of going for them.
My Project
Our Pre-K and Kindergarten students participated in a fundraiser to buy new books for the school. We wanted to protect the new books, so we began using ziplock bags to protect our books. Our students have done a fabulous job using the book bags to bring the books to and from school.
New bags on hand will allow me to replace damaged bags and be prepared as new students enroll.
The tape is necessary to attach barcodes and book bag instructions on the bag. The student's name, teacher's name are also written on the bags.
Book jacket covers will help protect these new books and increase the longevity of the library books. The students are so excited to come to the library and especially excited when they get to bring home the new books. We are creating a love for reading in our littlest wildcats!
